SCRIPTURE:
“Then Jesus, being filled with the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, being tempted for forty days by the devil. And in those days He ate nothing, and afterward, when they had ended, He was hungry.”
Luke 4:1-2, NKJV.
Child of God, there is no one under the sun who at one time or the other, either has not, or will not get to go through a wilderness season, or situation. When I talk about a wilderness situation, I am referring to a condition of hopelessness, helplessness, despair, and despondency – Where you are on your own with problems, which are indeed insurmountable from a human point of view. A condition where you feel and know that without God’s divine intervention, there is absolutely no hope or way out of it. According to the Scriptures; Jesus, Moses, Elijah, Job, Joseph, King David, Apostle Paul, Apostle Peter, Queen Esther, Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, to mention but a few, all came to their wilderness seasons. Nonetheless, they all survived it, while many others died in their wilderness. Wilderness is a place where the rubber meets the road! There are different types of wildernesses and many people are either swallowed by their wilderness, or come out of it stronger than they went in. When you go through a wilderness, you are never going to come out as you went in; You would have learned to fight for survival as you would come face to face with all kinds of evil, which you never even knew existed! You are going to be shaken, but you will become stronger if you eventually make it out. One of the things I love about wilderness seasons or situations is, that it is always a humbling season, a time the LORD GOD uses to humble those He loves, in order to get us closer to Him, and teach us what true humility is. The wilderness is where only the strongest are able to survive for an extended period of time because you either run out of it compromising, or refuse to compromise, and stay a lot longer to come out better, if you succeed in making it out, which you definitely will as long as your focus is on God Almighty, through Christ, the Author and Finisher of our faith and lives.
My question to you this day is – Do you feel you can no longer hold on, yet, there seems to be no way out? Does it feel you are hemmed-in and there is no exit plan? Then, it might indeed be a wilderness experience! Is all hope lost in a wilderness situation? No, but we must take into consideration that depending on how complex our situations are, as well as what God is doing with us, in us, and for us, it may take a bit longer than anticipated. One thing I have come to understand about God Almighty, is that if He has promised to get you out of any situation that is contrary to His will for you, then, He definitely will, thus, regardless of how discouraged we may feel at such times, we must never forget that a wilderness is not a place we navigate our way out at will, or by our own human strength, but rather, as we do our part, we have to wait on God Almighty to do His. The wilderness situation is one, where you have no choice, but to wait on God’s divine intervention, after having done all in your human strength to overcome, therefore, as long as you are still alive, then, you are not alone Child of God, for the LORD God Who allowed you to be led into it, will not allow the enemy to destroy you in it; He is ever present in it with you, although you may not see, hear or even feel Him. We worship a God Who makes a way where there is none, hence, we are neither to give up, nor believe that there is no way out, even if that seems to be the case. Believe that you are going to come out of such situations better, and stronger in Christ. Believe that every wilderness situation has a wonderful lesson that must be learned, in order to help us become better versions of who we are. Wilderness situations are there to prune us of things, which hinders us from being our true selves in Christ. Therefore Child of God, Keep calling and holding unto God, till the season is over because it definitely will, but only if you don’t give up on yourself and on God Almighty. God, our holy and compassionate Father, loves you, and He will see to it that you make it out alive and whole in Jesus’ mighty name, amen.
PRAYER
Holy Father, I call on You this day because You are my God, and the only One, Who goes before me to deliver me out of any evil situation, and season of evil, therefore, deliver me LORD GOD in the most precious name of Your Son, and My Savior, Jesus Christ, amen.
God Almighty, my most powerful One, I put my trust in You to lead me out of every spiritual and physical wilderness, that I am not supposed to be in, and into my divine purpose as You did for the Joshua generation in the most powerful name of our LORD and Savior Jesus Christ, amen.
Merciful Father, lead me out of every wilderness situation I am presently going through, or may have to go through. I fully put my trust in Your saving Grace, that I will not die in this wilderness, but shall come out of it alive to declare Your faithfulness in the land of the living in Jesus’ precious name, amen.
Child of God, be happy and stay blessed
Jesus loves you!
