THE CHILDREN’S BREAD
– MONTHLY DEVOTIONAL –
1st. November 2024
SCRIPTURE,
“’In the sixth year, in the sixth month on the fifth day, while I was sitting in my house and the elders of Judah were sitting before me, the hand of the Sovereign Lord came on me there.
I looked, and I saw a figure like that of a man. From what appeared to be his waist down he was like fire, and from there up his appearance was as bright as glowing metal. He stretched out what looked like a hand and took me by the hair of my head. The Spirit lifted me up between earth and heaven and in visions of God he took me to Jerusalem, to the entrance of the north gate of the inner court, where the idol that provokes to jealousy stood. And there before me was the glory of the God of Israel, as in the vision I had seen in the plain.
Then he said to me, “Son of man, look toward the north.” So I looked, and in the entrance north of the gate of the altar I saw this idol of jealousy.
And he said to me, “Son of man, do you see what they are doing—the utterly detestable things the Israelites are doing here, things that will drive me far from my sanctuary? But you will see things that are even more detestable.”
Then he brought me to the entrance to the court. I looked, and I saw a hole in the wall. He said to me, “Son of man, now dig into the wall.” So, I dug into the wall and saw a doorway there.
And he said to me, “Go in and see the wicked and detestable things they are doing here.” So I went in and looked, and I saw portrayed all over the walls all kinds of crawling things and unclean animals and all the idols of Israel. In front of them stood seventy elders of Israel, and Jaazaniah son of Shaphan was standing among them. Each had a censer in his hand, and a fragrant cloud of incense was rising.
He said to me, “Son of man, have you seen what the elders of Israel are doing in the darkness, each at the shrine of his own idol? They say, ‘The Lord does not see us; the Lord has forsaken the land.’” Again, he said, “You will see them doing things that are even more detestable.”’
Ezekiel 8:1-13, NIV.
Sweet greetings to my precious ones, and wishing you all a very pleasant as well as exciting new month in Christ. In the name of Yeshua, I pray that all is well with each and everyone of you, amen.
This month’s devotional is about the Church, which means, that what I will be talking about this month, and however, whenever, as well as in whichever scope God Almighty would lead me to do so, is going to be “mainly” things pertaining to the church.
Therefore, I might as well begin with the fact that we need to look into the topic of jealousy, as it seems to be literally harassing too many people all over the globe. Consequently, it does not matter how many awards you have bagged and might still get to bag for being within the church and still hating on me, yet, it does not chip away from the seriousness of this issue of jealousy, and I do know, that those of you who have godly discerning spirits, would vindicate me, by attesting to this truth; JEALOUSY is poisoning and eating up the church from within!
I have written in my devotionals, and even spoken in my videos about this particular spirit as well as other spirits it networks with, that notwithstanding, as long as it is still prevalent, we are also not going to back down from addressing it whenever and however we can. I must make clear though, that everything that happens to us, is not as a result of jealousy, and in some cases, some of those who are screaming about being victims of jealousy are not victims of jealousy at all, therefore, discernment is needed to sift these voices as to separate the chaff from the wheat, as to separate those crying wolf where there is none, thus, caution and divine wisdom is needed here address such situations.
JEALOUSY is a spirit, which aims for our minds, and even the earthly church is not spared from the power of this evil spirit should she not take inventory of herself as to search and find this spirit within her, and cast it out.
I do believe that for a time and season, each and every one of us have had our fair share of being jealous of at least someone, as well as people being jealous of us. Well, in either case, it is not a good place to be, and should you have been, or are currently a victim of the evil spirit called jealousy, then, I feel your pain deeply, tremendously empathize with you, and wholeheartedly encourage you to stay strong, knowing that in due course, regardless of how long it may last, or how fierce it’s attacks against you may be, this too, will pass away from you, if you do not submit to it.
The spirit of Jealousy is not a friend of the church, and as a result, the church needs to sit up to resist JEALOUSY because, it is this spirit that would make a Pastor who is very well established, to seek to stifle the growth of his fellow Pastor who seems to be gaining just a little reward, minor notoriety, or godly acceptance from well-meaning people for his ministration, be they few, or many in number.
Jealousy within the church is that, which is capable of making a Pastor, to work relentlessly until he destroys the marriage of his fellow Pastor whose marriage is somewhat stable, just because misery loves company.
Jealousy is what Satan intentionally uses to manipulate people to work for him against their fellow human beings, thus, such people become Satan’s extremities, sensory organs, etc. which he uses to live-out his wicked desires, emotions, schemes, as well as his evil plans against the innocent. Therefore, ungodly jealousy is not from our holy God, it is not from the Head of the Church, Who is indeed a Jealous God, but in His case, His jealousy is a different kind from the one I am addressing here, festering within the Church – He is jealous over His Bride with a “godly or holy Jealousy” because like the Scripture above confirms; there is no depth of evil, which the church will not be willing to tolerate, engage in, and be dragged into, should she keep on “dancing” with this particular evil spirit of Jealousy, as well as partying with those who are unrepentant hosts of such evil spirit, thus, this evil spirit of Jealousy must be separate from us; from THE genuine BRIDE OF CHRIST.
The spirit of jealousy is not what should find comfort within the church, yet, it is sad to admit, that it has not just been comfortable in the church, but rather, this spirit has been spreading like wild fire within her for too long, but hiding under the cover of grace, covering, friends, spiritual sons, spiritual daughters, spiritual mothers, and spiritual fathers. Consequently, it must be confronted as to stop it from eating up the whole lump – THE CHURCH! For this reason, whenever, and wherever we believe that we are standing, we ought to be even more careful as not to fall into the trap of this evil spirit of Jealousy, and where any of us have already fallen headlong into it, as long as we are a genuine child of God Almighty and a true follower of Christ, then, it is still not too late to do all, that you know you must and should, by God’s grace, in order to come out of that trap and get moving on the right path, again – Amen.
PRAYER
Lord God Almighty, grant us victory over the evil spirit of jealousy that is within the church. Help us to confront this spirit in every department of our lives, and refuse to have any fellowship with it in our personal lives and within our church, in the most faithful name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, amen.
Child of God, with regards to MONTHLY DEVOTIONAL, till the first of next month.
Jesus loves you.
Yours Sister – Susan.
